For CC families of one or two, rather than buying a whole turkey, the list asks you for a turkey breast.
Turkey breast is $1.49 a pound, and turkey is $.69 a pound, plus a turkey breast is only light meat. I’ve never liked buying a turkey breast.
This year, I hunted through the bin early and found exactly what I was looking for.
“A nine and a half pound turkey,” I told two of my friends triumphantly.
One of them burst out laughing. “Jane–that’s a chicken!”
Too much fun. But hey, at least Family 2E gets its own turkey this Thanksgiving and won’t be eating it until Christmas.
