September 29th is the feast day of the archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, the three angels known by name in the Bible.
Because I’m Italian, I feel the urge to acknowledge their awesomeness by making a special dinner and dessert tonight.
I’m thinking lasagna and a cake. (Not angel food cake. Just a cake.) Any suggestions?
Wings???
New reader here, but this cake:

is beyond awesome. I’ve made it for several family gatherings and it gets rave reviews. It does have nuts (ground to a powder) and dairy in it, though, so if those are an issue just ignore 🙂
Wow–that is one amazing cake! I’m not sure I could get my kids to eat anything with walnuts in it, but if they’re ground down to powder they might not realize at first, especially if I call it something else. 😉
They can’t see the nuts at all — you may be able to sneak them by!
