let’s give away a…er…um…help?

As you know (because I’ve mentioned it twenty-five thousand six hundred eighty-one times) my novella The Boys Upstairs is being published this coming Wednesday by MuseItUp Publishing.

What would you guys think about having a Publication Day Giveaway?

Successful and popular authors do that, but doubtless they’ll allow me to do that too. Right? Right. The only question is, what should I give away?

I’ve got some ideas, but they’re all over the map because my readership here is fairly diverse:

Please note that a diverse readership is an awesome thing in that it encourages dialogue, but not so awesome when it comes to finding one thing everyone would like given away.

The harsh reality is that a terrific community of readers like yourselves deserves the best possible gift a writer could give: a post of such heartbreaking brilliance that reading it would be its own reward. But in order to do that, I’d have to be brilliant, and that ain’t gonna happen.

Therefore I’m asking you guys: What would enflame your enthusiasm sufficiently to motivate you to go ahead and leave a comment for a random drawing?

Why don’t you offer the winner’s choice of one of the above? Of course, then the winner would have to choose between multiple awesome possibilities.

There probably will be some choice involved. But if you have other suggestions of things to offer, the more the merrier. 🙂

Something involving housekeeping or preventing procrastination? Can’t think of something specific.

That’s really more up your alley than mine. I could give away a copy of the Motivated Moms planner, but it’d be nothing but hypocritical of me to try to present myself as someone who either keeps house or doesn’t procrastinate. 😉

It is? ‘Cause there’s not much evidence of it here. Maybe I’ll reward myself for getting the chores done by reading the novella. But then I might never get to read it.

    Signed copy of Annihilation?? Squee!

I could certainly offer up one of those. Some folks already have a copy though. (At least, I’d like to think so. LOL!) So I think Kate’s idea of the winner choosing a prize might be the way to go.

Honestly, the mere mention of a prize makes my ears perk up. 🙂 I especially like the suggestion of the winner picks the prize idea.
